Donut, anyone? This easy baked donut recipe doesn’t take too much time and makes roughly 6-9 donuts. You can double the recipe if you’re looking to have a dozen+ donuts. Personally, I think a small batch is perfect if you’re just looking for a little sweet treat over the weekend with your morning coffee.
The recipe includes a glaze then cream cheese frosting topped with sprinkles. You can do other toppings such as only doing the glaze, adding cinnamon, etc. The donut pan that I used for this easy baked donut recipe is linked here.
Ingredients
Donuts:
- 1 cup flour
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp melted butter
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Topping:
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tbsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp milk
- 1-2 cups cream cheese frosting
- Sprinkles
Recipe
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In a separate medium bowl, mix together the melted butter, egg, milk, and vanilla.
- Slowly pour the medium size bowl ingredients into the large bowl while you mix everything together until just combined. Be careful to not over mix.
- Pour the batter into the donut pan about half way in each circle. (Tip: add the batter into a plastic bag then cut a hole at the bottom corner so it’s easier to pour.)
- Bake for 9-10 minutes then let cool for 5 minutes before you start to add the topping.
- For the topping – mix together the powdered sugar, vanilla, salt, and milk in a small bowl until it’s a glaze consistency to your liking.
- Dip each donut about half way into the glaze then let sit for at least 5 minutes.
- Gently add cream cheese frosting then top with sprinkles.
