The Nursery Project

It’s been a bit quiet around here lately and that’s because…we’re expecting a baby boy this summer! We’re due on July 1. The first trimester was rough and I’m thankful that my second trimester has been much better than the first. But now, it’s nursery project time.

My sister-in-law and best friend, Sam Hasler, helped design our nursery just like how she helped plan the office/closet project that we did last year. I wanted the room to be a soft blue and not like a robin egg blue. I also wanted the room to feel calm and to have wood and gold accents. I created a Pinterest board for Sam so she could see what I was drawn to and below are the design mock-ups she made for us. We won’t have the exact decor items that are built into the designs she made but we’re looking for things that are pretty similar. She nailed the design.

We officially started the nursery project last weekend. We added a fresh coat of paint to the ceiling, painted the walls Upward by Sherwin Williams, and painted the trim/windows/doors white. We initially wanted to add the trim/moulding to the walls but put that on the back-burner for now because we have the most awkward wall spacing in this room and I don’t math well. We also set up the curtains, assembled the crib, and got the dresser delivered.

There’s still much to do. We still need to finalize the other decor items but for now…I could just sit in the nursery all day long. It’s the most special room in the house.
